A Dream Fulfilled

Strange season.

Still in quarantine, rather used to it, miss friends/family and prevented from doing some things, but overall...comfortable. Probably too comfortable.

I have become way too accustomed to all this free time, especially on weekends. It's SO nice, and my husband and I are starting to dream up things we can do, but when things go back to normal, we won't have all this time, so we need to be careful with our dreaming!

But for me, it's been a great opportunity to reboot my art interest! Honestly, it took me 3 months into quarantine to do so...but better late than never! I have been working on drawing skills, watercolor, and digital art.

I have also spent some money in the art category...on...drumroll please...

*confetti* A DISPLAY TABLET! *confetti*

After discovering I could snag a good quality display tablet for less than $300 (Huion Kamvas 13, #notsponsored) I JUMPED because I have been wanting a display tablet for YEARS (seriously, like a bucket list item). I had always thought I would have to shell out whatever crazy amount the Cintiq was going for, but apparently the non-Wacom tablets have come up in quality and are significantly lower in price!

And it is EXACTLY the experience I HOPED it would be!! I am super pumped about it! Except now I really have to improve my drawing skills! But I am super pumped!

I also took advantage of a sale and bought Clip Studio Paint, which I am SUPER impressed with! Certainly good enough to replace Photoshop and all I use it for, which is good because Photoshop is no longer compatible on my computer...(moment of silence)

I knew that was coming, though. I just didn't know how soon. I'm glad that I got CSP before that happened, though! CSP is also lighter weight than PS so it runs better on my 7 year old laptop. Time for a new computer soon, I think. But yikes, I don't want to drop any more money...
